OUR LEECHES NEED MORE SPACE
When we maxed out our pond capacity here at bbez, we collaborated with Polyestertechnik Rafalzik to develop a new type of pond. The new ponds were manufactured in Dutenhofen and transported to Biebertal on special extra-wide low loaders. Here they were placed on prepared beds and finally covered with plastic canopies.
This means that the bbez facility in Biebertal now has eight halls and 50 ponds. Further expansion is not possible at this location. The advantage of the new design: the ponds can be manufactured in a production hall and are thus not dependent on the weather. Construction machinery such as wheel loaders and excavators enable rapid relocation of the ponds. Should we end up relocating our facility, the tanks can simply be reused elsewhere.
The first ponds are now occupied and the leeches seem to be doing well.
